Featured Projects from Israel and Around the World

Works created in collaboration with individuals, architects, and institutions, each custom-made to its place, story, and spirit. Every project is a meeting point between material, person, and environment, where iron comes to life and becomes an integral part of the space.

Manhattan, New York

In Manhattan, within the walls of the TriBeCa synagogue, a unique project is currently being developed. Tom Shmueli, along with a group of five Israeli artists, met with the local Jewish community to create something greater than the sum of its parts: a bridge of matter and spirit.

In the exhibition "1956," this encounter becomes an inspiring moment that connects the Israeli heart with American Jewry. This is a story of how, from ashes and heavy metal, a creation emerges that adds good to the world.

The works displayed in the exhibition were not born in a vacuum; they were created from fragments of a reality that shattered on October 7th. From these fragments grew a fierce choice for life – a desire to create love in homes, despite everything and against all odds.

The Story of the "V'ahavta" Hanukkah Menorah from a Missile Shard

It all began with a special request from New York, from David Pressman. The mission was to transform the unbelievable into art: to take metal shrapnel from rockets fired from Gaza and infuse it with a new soul of holiness and light.

This is how this special project was born

Imagine this cold, violent iron, collected in the fields of Israel by artist Eli Gross, undergoing a transformation in the workshop. In the hands of Tom Shmueli, material meant to destroy becomes a Hanukkah menorah and candlesticks – vessels that spread light and warmth in homes around the world.

This is the fulfillment of the prophet Isaiah's vision: "They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks."

In this creation, war gives way to creation. Each Hanukkah menorah is unique, handcrafted, and contains a real fragment that reminds us that it is possible – and necessary – to turn all destruction into a source of peace and love

Wall relief on the walls of the old market in Afula

Part of a broad project by the Culture Movement and Afula Municipality within the framework of the "Afuliz" festival.

The work seeks to breathe new life into the public space through the concept of a direct connection between the language of art and the authentic daily life of the city.

The relief, which emerged from Tom's inspiration from his time and walks in the market and his dialogue with the veteran merchants, is now an integral part of the market's development process and its transformation into a vibrant cultural center.

From the Studio to the Public Space: Outdoor Sculpture in Galilee Park

After years of intimate creation within the studio walls, the artist felt that the iron was asking for space. His work ventured out into the open landscape and found a home in the heart of the Galilee Park (The Quarries) in Karmiel.

Under the curation of veteran sculptor Shaul Salo, and alongside works by renowned artists from Israel and around the world (such as David Fine and Bernie Fink), stands the sculpture by Hatom Shmueli – a work that breathes among the waterfalls, ponds, and Israeli flora.

The sculpture, titled "Where Exactly" and a tribute to Constantin Brâncuși, is not just material; it is a question. In a world of infinite possibilities, it invites park visitors to pause for a moment, look up, and wonder:

"Where exactly are we going?"
