Tom Shmueli is an Israeli artist, born in 1983, who primarily creates iron sculptures alongside drawing and printmaking, and exhibits his works in Israel and internationally. After studying art and specializing with leading artists, he developed a personal language focusing on the human psyche, connection to nature, and processes of decay and growth. His work stems from internal observation and combines inspiration from the Bible and life itself, using diverse materials. Over the years, he has held numerous exhibitions and received professional support and recognition, alongside extensive activity in art education. His current flagship project, "V'ahavta" (And You Shall Love), was born out of the events of October 7th and expresses a message of love, healing, and human connection, which he also promotes through social collaborations and community contributions.

And you loved
Art that emerges from the ruins, amidst the remnants of burnt cars, in a place where time stood still – one word rises above the iron: "V'ahavta" (And you shall love). Tom Shmueli, an iron artist, stands before the debris and transforms the silence and ashes into a creative journey, reviving an ancient and eternal message – "V'ahavta L'reakha Kamokha" (And you shall love your neighbor as yourself). Today, Shmueli is a creative artist in a studio for artistic creations, primarily using iron cutting techniques, as well as art printing, and owns a business selling his works. His flagship project these days is the creation of "V'ahavta" – a work that emerged from within him and connected to the events of October 7th, which he sells in Israel and worldwide, and also donates to bereaved families and war victims. An essential part of the "V'ahavta" creation is its ethical and social aspect. Shmueli collaborates with families to create various environmental and social projects.

Selected Exhibitions
"The joy of discovery and the awe of a work of art" – this is how critic Karni Am-Ad described Tom Shmueli's work, who treats his creations as urgent and necessary acts.
Tom welds screws, cuts iron, and bends wires with delicate brushstrokes, creating a linear drawing in space that combines iron, stone, and incidental wood.
His sculpture is metaphysical in nature, touching upon spirituality and quoting biblical verses that lend deep and new meaning to the rigid metal and raw material.
Through the exhibition "Helek" (Part), he invites us to become acquainted with the "divine part" that exists within us, stemming from the creation and art that burn within him and create a complete, refreshing, and inspiring body of work.

Exhibitions and Projects in Germany
Cross-border connection
Tom's artistic journey expanded to Germany through a fruitful partnership with the architect and art collector Peno Bruckmann and his wife Monika, an art enthusiast and artist. His activities included exhibitions in cities such as Berlin, Oldenburg, and Braunschweig, as well as the creation of environmental sculptures.
His work in Germany grew out of a deep friendship between Tom and Peno and Monika, and an acknowledgment of the complex Jewish-German history, with a desire for healing and human reconciliation through creation and art.
This is a profound professional and human connection that continues to be a central and fruitful axis in his work to this day.

Sources of Inspiration
The spark within matter
My inspiration comes from the intersection of spirit and matter, of soul and body - from people, from nature, from language and from home. It is also found in the small details and in the beauty of imperfection. Knowing that there is wholeness within me, I choose to create precisely from the human, imperfect place - that is where my art is born.

The studio
A Sanctuary of Matter, Spirit, and Movement
The studio is my second home - a space of creation, prayer, and transformation. Here, I breathe life into metal and create by hand, connecting raw power with the delicacy of the soul. After a journey that stretched from the South to the North, the studio is now located in Moshav Hagor, in the heart of an olive grove - and every creation carries within it the journey, the land, and the connection to humanity.
There are moments that have no words, only presence
Not trying to define, not planning to leave, she is simply there, quiet, exposed, etched in iron, a living reminder of the strength within us to see the brokenness and choose to create love
